I’m a believer in the need for nerd caves, so I took a couple of pictures of my own using my iPhone:

 

I’ve been renting space from The House Theatre of Chicago for a couple of months now, and I’ve managed to create a nice space where Stuff Gets Done.

Here’s a picture of Scotty and his life-size triceratops.

I wanted to do a quick follow-up on the post where I listed all the reasons that I was leaving graduate school. I think that a couple of clarifications and elaborations are necessary lest I leave readers with a wrong or incomplete impression.

In the spirit of list-making, here’s another.

Since making the fork onto the startup road, I’ve been trying to balance two lives as I work to build my new company into something financially sustainable while winding down my graduate school career over the next couple of months. Today’s as typical day as any, so here’s a snapshot representing what I do most days of the week.

I originally decided to not write this post as each attempt became a longwinded dissertation on things that no one other than me cares about, but since someone apparently does care, I figured that this would be a good opportunity to document this point in my life.

In order to satisfy the curious, here are my reasons for leaving graduate school to found a startup.

Scotty graduated “Puppy Preschool” this weekend and has the diploma to prove it. He did really well and enjoyed playing with the other dogs the most. Holly and I are looking into some regular trips to “puppy daycare” so he can continue having fun with other dogs.
